PVD Coating Technology Offers Hex-Chrome Alternative
DuPont CoatingSolutions and American Trim have teamed up to promote an innovative coating technology. American Trim recently took delivery of a physical vapor deposition chamber (PVD) that allows for the processing of a chrome-like finish without the use of hexavalent chrome. The PVD process employs a base powder coating supplied by DuPont, which serves as a protective, functional layer and smoothes out the surface.

PPG Launches New Pretreatment and Wastewater Treatment
PPG Industries has launched a new, environmentally responsible automotive pretreatment technology (Zircobond) at CAMI Automotive’s production facility in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. In a separate move, PPG has signed an agreement with Plymouth Technology, Inc., to distribute Plymouth’s Metals Removal System (MRS) wastewater treatment technology by to the North American automotive original-equipment manufacturer (OEM) market under the PPG brand name "Water Wise Solutions."
