Appliance Manufacturer Benefits from
New Pretreatment Process
GE Water & Process Technologies, a unit of General Electric Co., recently presented Roper Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of General Electric that manufactures cooking appliances, with a 2007 ecomagination leadership award for achieving substantial reductions in water and energy usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and nutrient levels in wastewater effluent – most of which was achieved by switching to GE’s ecomagination-certified Permatreat Enhanced Performance Pretreatment (EPP) Program to prepare metal parts for painting.

Bridge Coating Stands Test of Time
Windgap BridgeAfter more than two decades of use, the aliphatic polyester polyurethane coating on the Windgap Bridge in Western Pennsylvania still looks great. The coating system, manufactured by Tnemec, used polyurethane resin technology developed by Bayer MaterialScience. Not only was it easy to apply, the new coating system exhibited a number of advantages that would eventually prove the coating system to be extremely cost-effective.
