Waupaca Pallet has been purchased and renamed Alliance Industries by a new management team of second-generation family members. The second generation of family members took over day-to-day operations of the company in 2000 and purchased the company in the fall of 2006. The new officers include Bob Mittelstaedt, president; Brad Mittelstaedt, vice president; Stacy Mittelstaedt-Drexler, chief financial officer; and Mike Drexler, chief operating officer. A fifth member of the Mittelstaedt family, Paul, will join the company in 2008 when he completes college. The management team also includes Penny Frank, manager of organizational development.

“We chose the ‘Alliance’ name because it truly reflects our business philosophy. We’re seeking to establish an alliance between the company, our employees and our customers,” said Bob Mittelstaedt, president. “The new management team saw the importance of what we do and how we do it being critical to our long-term success. This is why we committed ourselves company-wide to quality initiatives like ISO 9001:2000 certification, lean manufacturing practices and Six Sigma methodologies.”

The Alliance Industries name also reflects a change in business focus and the desire to bring together four separate operations under a single corporate identity.

Waupaca Pallet expanded its operations over the years to include Fox Valley Industrial Coatings in Menasha, WI, and Mid-State Cores in Marinette, WI. In addition to its operations in Waupaca, the company has a Waupaca Pallet facility in Troy, IN. Liquid and powder coating, and manufacturing sand cores, represents more than 98% of the company’s business.
