SEI Chemical of Northridge, CA, has purchased 21st Century Coatings Ltd. of Vancouver, BC, Canada. According to SEI, the buyout will enable customers in more markets worldwide to access a range of leading-edge coating, additive and specialty cleaning technologies from a single source. The two firms’ diverse lines of high-end industrial coatings use fluorinated silicone resin systems that are proven in the fields of anti-corrosion, anti-microbiological, ant-graffiti, anti-stick, marine and high-heat applications in both consumer and industrial markets. The purchase price was not disclosed.

21st Century will continue in the immediate future operating under the same name and with its current sales outlets. It is expected that sales personnel from both companies will, after training, sell a unified product line under the SEI brand.
